Roxi McCloskey
Roxi McCloskey received her MFA in painting from the University of
Texas - San Antonio. She also has a BFA in Painting and Drawing with a
minor in Art History, and extensive experience and training in graphic
design, illustration, digital imaging, photography, and set design. She has
special interests in portrait painting and in encaustic painting. She is a
Senior Lecturer at UT-San Antonio, where she has taught for 12 years. Additionally,
she has taught at Trinity University and The Southwest School of Art &
Craft. Her work has been exhibited internationally and her commissioned
works are included in many important collections, including the Texas State
Capitol.
Roxi was the Executive Director of the Majestic Ranch Arts
Foundation. She is a painter and educator. She exhibits internationally and
has taught visual arts for 16 years at the University of Texas San Antonio,
and also courses at Trinity University, Southwest School of Art &
Craft, and Houston Community College. She enjoyed a previous career as an
advertising art director, and has been involved in music and theater. She
participates actively in the area arts community, is Chair of the UTSA
College of Liberal & Fine Arts Advisory Council, and is a member of the
UTSA Development Board and the Cibolo Arts Council. She served as an
officer in the City of Houston's Community Arts Advisory Council. In her
leisure time she can often
be found bicycling in the hills around
San Antonio.
